Registration and enrolment

Registration and enrolment

Now that you have chosen a Master’s programme, postgraduate course, Master’s module or Masterclass, you have taken the first step towards investing in your future. In order to get started, you need to register and enrol. We will guide you through the various steps below.

Step-by-step plans

We have provided two step-by-step plans below. The first plan is relevant if you have chosen a Master’s programme. The second plan applies if you have chosen a postgraduate course, Master’s module or a Masterclass.

Please note:

You will see references to Osiris and Studielink below. Osiris is the student registration system used at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Studielink is the Netherlands’ national registration system for higher education.

I. Registering for a Master’s programme

  1. You can register for your chosen Master’s programme via Studielink. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email and your login details for Osiris. This is the administration portal that we use to assess your eligibility.
  2. You need to keep the following deadlines in mind:
    • 31 August - if you are from the European Union or the European Economic Area (EEA);
    • 31 May - if you are from another country. If you are unsure about which countries are part of the EEA, please see this website which provides further information.
  3. Osiris will ask you for digital copies of various documents, such as copies of your CV, the highest diploma you have achieved and the accompanying list of grades. Please upload these documents. We will use them during our evaluation. This evaluation process will take two to four weeks.
  4. We will invite you to an intake interview if you are eligible on the basis of your previous education, relevant work experience, motivation and English language skills (if applicable). This interview will be held on the campus of The Hague Graduate School or via Skype. During this interview you will be able to tell us about your aspirations and reasons for wanting to enrol in the Master’s programme. You will also have the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have. If this interview is positive for both parties, you will receive the information package that is part of your admission.
  5. You will be officially enrolled once we have received your payment. As an EU/EEA student, you do not need to do anything else regarding immigration. We will email you to confirm that you have been accepted to the Master’s programme. As a non-EU/EEA student please follow the next steps. We will apply for a student residence permit on your behalf after we have received your payment, and the supporting immigration documents. We will also apply for an entry visa if you need one. You can collect your visa from the nearest Dutch embassy in your country. It will take between 2 to 8 weeks to process.
  6. Final arrangements:
Travelling to The Hague – we strongly advise that you wait until the Immigration & Naturalisation Service (IND) has approved your entry visa and residence permit before purchasing your ticket.
Preparing the documents you need to bring to the Netherlands – you can find full details in the information package.
Arranging student housing – please let us know if you would like help with arranging accommodation (accommodation@hhs.nl).
Airport pick-up service – we will be providing a pick-up service from Schiphol Airport in August. The date will be announced shortly.

University accommodation is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Don't wait too long! You can indicate in Osiris if you would like us to help you with housing. Alternatively, contact us at accommodation@hhs.nl
  7. Your arrival:
You will receive information about the introduction days in mid-July. You will also receive the reading list and your timetable. You will arrive in The Hague in mid-August.

If you have any questions about the admission process, please email us at masters-admission@hhs.nl. You can also visit www.thuas.com for any matters relevant for international students, such as immigration, accommodation, and health insurance.

  2. Osiris will ask you for digital copies of various documents, such as copies of your CV, the highest diploma you have achieved and the accompanying list of grades. Please upload these documents. We will use them during our evaluation. This evaluation process will take between two to four weeks.
